Your Orchard Manager will call on these services for you, as and when they’re needed. If something’s required on your orchard that we can’t organise in-house, we will sort it for you.

We also closely supervise all contracted labour and take a no-nonsense approach with those we choose to hire and bring onto your orchard.

EHC offers independent orchard management services to oversee fruit growing on your vines, through to harvest and delivery to the packhouse of your choice.

CAPACITY:

Our business is structured to ensure we have the capacity to give you and your orchard the individual attention you deserve. EHC’s experienced orchard managers are responsible for a maximum of 50-60 hectares each to ensure they are never overstretched.

MAXIMISE RETURNS:

Our management service will help maximise your OGRs while minimising the stress typically involved in the day-to-day operation of an orchard. Making things work on-orchard is our sole focus and priority.

FLEXIBILITY:

We offer complete flexibility so you can be as involved, or as hands-off, as you wish. We also don’t want our clients to ever feel trapped – so our management contracts only run for one season at a time and are re-confirmed annually. Clients stay with us because of the results we achieve and because they want to continue working with us, not because they have to.

COMPLIANCE:

Our cost-effective and efficient orchard management service will also help you meet the necessary compliance requirements of ZESPRI and New Zealand’s tax, labour and health & safety legislation.


At EHC we have a fleet of well-maintained and certified orchard machinery that can get many orchard jobs done. The orchard machinery services offered by EHC include:

ORCHARD SPRAYING:

Utilising a state of the art Atom sprayer our highly experienced and certified spray operator can accurately and safely apply bud break enhancers, bird repellents, insecticides and fungicides, Psa protectants, foliar fertilisers and growth stimulants, and fruit stain removers. In fact, any product approved by ZESPRI for use on kiwifruit, we can apply it for you – safely, accurately and efficiently.

MOWING AND MULCHING:

We offer a number of mowing and mulching options to keep the orchard looking tidy. Our machinery can handle the full range from the heaviest of winter prunings to the lightest of grasses to produce that park like appearance.

WEED SPRAYING:

We can spray herbicides for undervine weed and grass control; and we can handgun waste areas for weed control.


At EHC we put a lot of effort into growing the very best crops we can, and as such we offer a complete harvesting service to ensure that the great crops we grow arrive at the packhouse in great shape.

BEST ADVICE

We’ll guide you through all key stages and decisions involved in setting up a new kiwifruit orchard from site selection through to layout design and setting budgets, production goals and timelines. We tailor each development to your personal requirements and will advise you on the best planting patterns for your site and whether artificial or natural shelter is most appropriate for your needs.

GET UP & RUNNING

Once a detailed plan is in place, EHC will get your new vines in the ground. We provide experienced and dedicated vine training managers and teams to help get your orchard off to the best possible start. We are experienced in grafting all varieties and will use the best techniques to meet your overall goals.
